Who should apply for a Work and Holiday visa?
The Work and Holiday visa is for tertiary-educated people, aged 18 to 30, who wish to travel and work for up to 12 months in Indonesia. This visa allows the Australian travelers to supplement the cost of the holiday through periods of temporary or casual employment
REQUIREMENTS:
1. A completed Work and Holiday Visa application form;
2. Holds a valid Passport (min. 18 months validity);
3. Recommendation letter from DIAC (Department of Immigration and Citizenship of Australia);
4. Have tertiary qualifications or have studied at a university for at least 2 (two) years;
5. Have not previously participated in the work and holiday program;
6. Has a return/onward ticket and evidence of sufficient funds (a bank statement that demonstrates an available account balance of AUD$ 5000) to support early stay in Indonesia;
7. Have the ability to communicate in Bahasa Indonesia at least at a functional level (proven by a certificate, if any); and
8. Possesses a good health and character.CONDITIONS:
People who are granted Work and Holiday Visa must not:
1. Be employed by any one employer for more than six (6) months;
2. Engage in any studies or training for more than four (4) months; and
3. Be employed as an English teacher in English Course institution.LIMIT:
There will be a yearly limit of 100 ‘Work and Holiday’ visas granted to Indonesian applicants and a limit of 100 ‘Work and Holiday’ visas granted to Australian applicants. Successful applicants are allowed to work in the areas of tourism, education, art and culture, health, sport, and social work. Note that the Work and Holiday Visa is a non-extendable type of visa.
APLICATION FEE:
At the Indonesian Embassy:
1. AUD$ 7.00 admission fee is required when applicants submit the application;
2. US$100 for the Visa. The visa fee are also payable in Australian Dollars but will be depending on the exchange rate at the time of payment; and
3. The process will take up to 4 weeksDuring the Arrival at designated Indonesian Entry Ports:
1. Rp. 1.000.000,- for the ITAS (payable upon arrival at the Entry Port);
2. Rp. 700.000,- for the MREP (payable upon arrival at the Entry Port); and
3. Rp. 50.000,- for Biometrical Photographs (payable upon arrival at the Entry Port)ITAS and MREP forms are available for download at www.imigrasi.go.id or in any Indonesian Representatives in Australia. The two forms must be completed and presented upon arrival at the immigration checkpoints in Indonesia.
