Passport note:As well as a valid passport, all nationals must be in possession documentation for onward travel, sufficient funds to cover their stay and a confirmed accommodation reservation.
Visas:1. Visas are not required by visitors to the Cook Islands for tourist stays of up to 31 days.
2. Nationals arriving in the Cook Islands on business require a work visa; visas are issued on arrival for a maximum stay of 21 days.

Visa note:Visitors can extend length of stay on a monthly basis, for a maximum of six months, at the immigration department.
A fee is payable with each application, and an application must be made within five working days prior to the expiration of the authorised period of stay. The fee is NZ$70 for those 15 years and older; for stays of more than three months and up to 12 months, the total fee is $120.
Visitors must prove that they have sufficient funds for length of stay, suitable accommodation and are not employed or seeking employment on the Island before an extension is granted.
For visitors wanting to stay longer than six months, a visa can now be applied for onshore; there is no fee for applicants aged under 15 years, but they must report to immigration for official paperwork to be completed.
