Indonesia Temporary Stay Visa Requirements

  1. An application form must be completed in duplicate with two passport sized photographs (2×2 inch).
  2. Passport must be valid for at least 18 (eighteen) months after the date of entry.
  3. A visa fee of A$ 80.00 (6 months stay) or A$ 165.00 (12 months stay) is required and made payable only in a form of money order or company cheque to the Indonesian Embassy. Cash, personal cheque, or credit card payments will not be accepted.
  4. A complete and updated Curriculum Vitae (CV).
  5. An Indonesian immigration authorization letter is required;
  6. A copy of return trip airline ticket (itinerary) from the travel agent;
  7. It requires at least 3 (three) working days to process the visa since the receipt of application and has been declared complete by the Embassy.
  8. Please note that payment of the visa administration fee does not guarantee that the application will be successful. Therefore, there will be no refund of payment on unsuccessful applications; and.
  9. For those who wish to apply to the Indonesian Embassy in Canberra using postal mail, please send all of the required documents, including passport and return-paid envelope with completed return address (registered post or express post) to our postal address.

Please note:

For those who are joining their spouse or parent(s) who are Indonesian citizens living in Indonesia, and who are accompanying their spouse or parent(s) who are foreign citizens living in Indonesia holding Temporary Stay Permits, must submit a copy of their Marriage Certificate and/or their Birth Certificate as well as for their dependant(s) (if any).

For those conducting activities in Religious Missions, Research, Education, Social Fields, must enclose the original and a copy of a letter of recommendation from the institution or specific department/division that has assigned them.

For those who wish to work in a foreign investment or domestic investment venture, or is a technical professional on assignment by a foreign aid organization, must furnish a letter of recommendation from a relevant department in Indonesia, namely the Department of Manpower and Transmigration, the Investments Coordinating Board, and a copy of the letter of agreement to employ foreign labour.

For those seeking repatriation (returning to the country of origin), must provide proof of former Indonesian citizenship and a proof of guaranteed living expenses in Indonesia.
