How to apply for Cook Islands Visa?

If you decide to visit the Cook Islands, you are in luck because nobody needs a visa to enter. If you are just going to the Cook Islands for rest and relaxation, all you need to have is proof of a confirmed onward or return ticket.

You can stay in the Cook Islands for up to 31 days. Thereafter, you can apply for an Extension permit. You will need to have a passport, proof of onward passage, adequate financial means of supporting stay, and suitable accommodation. You will need to file your application at the Cook Islands Immigration Department.

Extensions are granted at two levels: Up to three months and five months. Children under 15 years of age are exempt from charges but must report to Immigration for official paperwork to be completed.

If you want to stay in the Cook Islands longer than 6 months, you need to apply from your home territory at a New Zealand Embassy or Consulate.

(Note that the New Zealand Embassies and Consulates will deal with Cook Islands-related visa matters)
