Mauritania Visa Requirements

REQUIREMENTS FOR U.S. CITIZENS TO OBTAIN VISA TO ENTER MAURITANIA

Tourist Visa

• Submit your U.S. Passport with at least 6 months remaining
• 2 Visa Application Forms, fully completed and signed
• 2 Passport-type photographs required
• Completed Cover Page and Credit Card Authorization forms (print from browser)
• International Certificate of Vaccination for Yellow Fever
• Copy of round trip airline tickets or itinerary, or letter of confirmation from travel agent. Applicants for transit visas should also show the right of entry to the next destination(s).
• Copy of your hotel confirmation
• Copy of recent bank statement or letter of reference from bank.

Business Visa

• Submit your U.S. Passport with at least 6 months remaining
• 2 Visa Application Forms, fully completed and signed
• 2 Passport-type photographs required
• Completed Cover Page and Credit Card Authorization forms (print from browser)
• International Certificate of Vaccination for Yellow Fever
• Copy of round trip airline tickets or itinerary, or letter of confirmation from travel agent.
• Copy of your hotel confirmation.
• A business letter of responsibility (sample) is required, to be typewritten on your company letterhead and addressed to:

  Embassy of Mauritania, Visa Section, Washington DC

  The letter must explain all of the following:

  • Nature of business to be performed
  • Name and address of reference to be visited
  • Guarantee of return transportation and sufficient funds for the visit.
  • The letter should be signed by an officer of the company other than the applicant.
